LaQ is a multiple award winning snap together toy from the Yoshiritsu company out of Nara, Japan. Within the past 2 years, it has been the recipient of numerous toy awards, including Parent's Choice, NAPPA and TD Monthly (see Awards section below).
The "Q" in LaQ is for the Japanese word "kyuu" which means sphere, and LaQ is a special type of blocks which can be pieced together to create a complete sphere. A sphere is the most infinite shape of all polyhedral objects, and LaQ is the ultimate block with infinite possibilities in creating from a child's imagination.
Our philosophy for LaQ is that all living people share the earth, and the earth is a sphere. Our hopes are that all the children in the world will be able to enjoy this fun and intellectual block toy.
LaQ pieces make a fun snapping noise when putting the pieces together. A child will know that the pieces are connected with this snapping noise, and this snap! encourages him to continue creating his own personal toy. Piecing together these parts are not only great fun but helps a child learn how to concentrate.
First, a child can start out by enjoying the colors and various patterns which can be made on a flat surface. There are various patterns you can create and this will allow a child to learn a sense of color coordination. Next you can challenge a 3 dimensional figure by starting out with a flat figure and gradually adding on more blocks.
LaQ is the only type of block which allows you to create curves and spheres. The amazing designs you can create full scale can be used as modeling materials for adults as well. LaQ is shaped like small chips and are easy to carry and store so you can play with them anywhere.
